Since I’m in airports, on planes, or hotel rooms a good amount of the time during the work week, I find time to read lots of good magazines. Note: A good magazine to me is often considered rubbish by most. I just like to be entertained. Here is something that I found very funny when I was reading it. So, I thought I would pass it on for all of you to read. It was in Entertainment Weekly’s Hot Sheet by Jim Mullen…
“PROM SEASON… For many high schoolers, this will be their first chance to act like grown-ups. Picking a dress, getting a date, finding a babysitter for the kids.”
I couldn’t stop laughing… It’s sad but true.
The bathroom is finally done. After 3 weeks of remodel hell, it’s done and I couldn’t be any more happy. Claire is very happy that she does not have to take baths anymore unless she wants to. The tile turned out better then I expected when I first got all the tile. To make a random pattern is more difficult than it looks. It took forever to plan a random pattern. I am very happy with the extra shower room, duel shower heads, and new tile. Look for pictures of the remodel under the Loft section of toon-time.com in a few days.
That’s right folks… the good old days of working from home have come to an end. I am now traveling Monday through Thursday to Kansas City. At least they have good BBQ there.
Well, I finally went to the allergist to see what allergies I have. I found out that I am allergic to just about everything. My arms looked liked I spent the day with mosquitoes. The doctor was to the point of almost laughing at me. She said that I might have to start living in a bubble and couldn’t believe I had waited this long to get tested. I now have to take medicine daily and will probably have to get shots… fun fun. Check out my moblog for a picture of what one of my arms looked like.
In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, I have finally finished putting up our pictures from Ireland on the website. They are in the adventures section. I will warn you now. There are over 100 pictures you so you better have a high speed connection. Click here to see the pictures.
Our friend Amilyn from St. Louis, is going to join us out tonight for a little St. Patrick’s Day celebration. We are trying to keep our Ireland vaction alive as long as possible.
Have a Guinness for me today,
Greg
At the end of February 2004, Claire and I packed our bags to go over the Atlantic Ocean again. This time the destination was Claire’s homeland of Ireland. We started our trip in Dublin and then her parents, sister, and grandmother met us over there a few days later. The 2nd and main part of our trip was an orgainized tour that her parent’s had found. The tour started with a few hours in Dublin, then to Waterford for a night, and then Killarney for the rest of our stay. We got to see lots of Irealand but enjoyed the Dingle Peninsula the most. Click here to see pictures from our Irish adventure.
That’s right folks. You are reading my handwriting (or trying to read it). I finally got my handwriting font to work on Toon-Time.com. Now, the whole world can read my chicken scratch. I’ve been trying to work on Toon-Time the last couple of days so look for everything to be working soon. Talk to you later.
I finally got a new phone (AT&T sony erricsson T616) and got rid of that nextel boat anchor. I couldn’t believe that the wireless number portability stuff worked and only took a few hours. There are so many horror stories about WNP out there. I guess I was lucky. The new phone has a camera so expect there to be more updates to my textamerica site.
Right now, I am trying to get some cool ringtones from Zingy but have not had any luck. Zingy has the best deal at $0.60 a song when you subscribe. This is a hell of a lot better then $2 a pop. Hopefully, I can get them from there or I might have to choose my songs more carefully.
Yes folks, it’s true. BU lost to BC in the Beanpot finals last night in OT. It’s a sad sad day when BU loses the BU Invitational. For those of you that didn’t go to school in Boston, you’ll have no idea what I am talking about. The Beanpot Hockey Tourney (sometimes called the BU Invitational) is held every year at the Fleet Center in the first 2 Mondays in Feb. The same four schools (Boston Univ., Harvard, Northeastern, and Boston College) play every year for bragg’n rights in Boston. Here are a little Beanpot facts for all the BU and BC fans out there to put this loss in perspective…
- BC get over yourselves. This is only your 2nd Beanpot in the last 10 years. BU has won the rest in the last ten years. BU has won 25 of the 52 Beanpot Tournaments held.
- This year was BU’s 20th time in the finals in the last 21 years.
And the list goes on… Until another school can win more then a fluke Beanpot here and there, it will still be called the BU Invitational.
I have come to the conclusion that sometimes mail in rebates are not worth it. I spent about an hour the other day getting together all the rebates for Turbo Tax and all the other software. Is it worth it? I guess so in this case because it was about $70 in rebates but did I really need all the other software I was getting “Free”. Free after mail in rebate of course. In the future, I think I am not going to consider an item on sale unless it’s at least a $20 mail in rebate.
